How to read your savings targets

The calculator shows a first $1,000 buffer and targets based on one month and three months of your essential costs. Money already saved reduces what is left to build.

The timeline counts whole deposits, starting one pay period from now. It assumes steady costs and contributions, with no interest or withdrawals. Use it as a planning estimate and revisit it when your costs change.
